HOW DO I JOIN THE MOVEMENT TEAM?
Follow the link above to read over the Volunteer Guidelines and FAQs, then fill out our volunteer application and submit your application. Once you are accepted as a volunteer, please sign your electronic waiver (step #2) then check back for your schedule and further instructions in May.
WHAT DO MOVEMENT TEAM MEMBERS DO?
They work in various aspects of the festival, such as helping set up the event beforehand, informing festival patrons about awesome after-parties, helping ensure that patrons enter the event easily, and assisting the operations team to finish tasks that are necessary for a successful, fun event. There are many different areas to work in that will offer Movement Team members the opportunity to play an important role in supporting our staff, fans, musicians, and partners in making the festival an exciting and memorable experience.
I AM FROM OUT-OF-TOWN. CAN I STILL VOLUNTEER?
Yes, you can! We want to expand our community of Movement Team members and look forward to working with people from many different cities.
HOW MANY HOURS DO I NEED TO VOLUNTEER TO RECEIVE A MOVEMENT FESTIVAL WEEKEND PASS?
To receive a full weekend pass, you must work three shifts (about 18 hours). One shift equals one day pass. If you have an evening shift and would like to attend the festival before your call time, you can check in early at the Volunteer Check-In tent to receive your credentials.
WHERE DO I CHECK IN?
If you are working a pre or post-festival shift, you will receive information in a later e-mail that details where you will check in. During the festival (Sat-Monday) you will check in at the Volunteer Check-In Tent located on the East side of the festival, in the gravel parking lot at Bates St. and Atwater St. You will need your ID in order to check in, and we will hold your ID until your shift is over.
WHAT DO I DO AT THE END OF MY SHIFT?
Once your shift is complete, please return to the Volunteer Check-in tent to pick up your ID. Once you have picked up your ID, you are free to leave or enjoy the festival.
CAN I WORK WITH A FRIEND?
You can request to work with someone else and if scheduling allows, we may be able to assign you together. Please specify your friend’s name in the application and make sure you both have the same scheduling availability.
WHEN WILL I KNOW IF I HAVE BEEN ACCEPTED AS A VOLUNTEER?
Check back under your festiVOL account to see if you have been accepted as a Movement volunteer.
WHEN DO I GET MY SCHEDULE?
Check back under your festiVOL account in May to see your scheduled shifts for Movement.
WHAT DO I DO IF SOMETHING COMES UP AND I DECIDE I CANNOT VOLUNTEER ANYMORE, OR NEED TO REQUEST A SHIFT CHANGE?
Please contact the Volunteer Team Coordinator at firstname.lastname@example.org as soon as possible so we can make accommodations.
DO YOU PROVIDE PARKING OR LIVING ACCOMMODATIONS FOR VOLUNTEERS?
No, we do not. Please plan on showing up 15 minutes early for your shift to ensure you have ample time to find parking.
CAN I BRING FOOD?
You may bring a snack to eat before or after your shift in the designated Volunteer Check-In area. Food will be available for purchase inside the festival also.
I AM A PHOTOGRAPHER. CAN I VOLUNTEER TO TAKE PHOTOS?
No, we supply our own photographers for our events.
I HAVE A MEDICAL BACKGROUND, CAN I WORK IN THE MEDICAL TENT?
No, we do not accept volunteers for that area.
WILL I WORK IN THE SAME POSITION FOR ALL OF MY SHIFTS?
Due to the diversity of our Team positions, we try to give all volunteers the opportunity to work in different roles. You may work in the same position all weekend, but that it is unlikely.
